Ionian Travel Car Hire recommends you supplement your local driver’s license with an International Drivers Permit (IDP) . An IDP is written in 10 languages and serves as an officially recognized translation of your local driver’s license in over 150 participating members of the United Nations. Your IDP should always be accompanied by your valid local driving license. The UN itself does not issue driving permits, but uses authorized travel associations to administer the service. A passport-size booklet is administered verifying that the motorist has a valid driver’s license from his/her their permanent place of residence.

The cars that we offer are not only comfortable and low-cost, but also a reliable means of transport within the island of Corfu.

Our fleet comprises of economy cars, that comfortably seat four or five passengers, like the Matiz Chevrolet, Hyundai Atos, Kia Picanto, Opel Corsa, Hyundai Getz and Fiat Panda. We also provide prestige cars, like Peugeot 4007-SUV-Auto or the 9-seater Mercedes Vito Van, as well as automatic cars, such as the Peugeot 208. Firstly, drivers must have a valid license held for at least one year, while the renter and any associated extra drivers must be a minimum of 23 years of age for all car categories. Debit Cards, Cash Cards (but no Personal Checks) are accepted as credit identification for rental commencement. We would however prefer a major credit card for all rental categories.

IONIAN TRAVEL CAR HIRE does not offer a one-way rental program between European countries. It is strictly forbidden to travel outside Greek borders with an IONIAN TRAVEL CAR HIRE vehicle.

All vehicles in our fleet include Third Party Liability Insurance as required by Law but we offer some extra Insurance Packages such as Full Damage Waiver, Personal Accident, Theft, Glass Parts etc.

IONIAN TRAVEL CAR HIRE will accept Visa and MasterCard. We will also accept American Express or Diners Card, on bank’s commission introduced on transaction. Tickets and appended administrative sanctions resulting from any violation of Greek Traffic Law during rental period, are solely the renter’s responsibility. If any such tickets and administrative sanctions are not disclosed to IONIAN TRAVEL CAR HIRE at the end of the rental period (contract), the violation will be registered in the renter’s name and the Greek Government will request the renter’s details; the traffic fine will be sent by post to the provided address.
